Happy Birthday Richie Sambora, who turns 58-years-old today!
And while Sambora is getting plenty of birthday love on his Twitter page, he is back in the news for a good cause! The former Bon Jovi guitarist is now taking part in a new project-Csnaps.org–to raise money for charitable causes.
“When I heard a billion dollars could have been raised with one selfie — Ellen DeGeneres’ 2014 Oscar selfie — I thought, ‘Why give that away for free, when that kind of money could be funneled toward important causes?’” said Sambora to People magazine. “And so, Csnaps.org was born.”
Csnaps, short for “Charity Snaps,” is an app which monetizes both celebrity social media posts and users’ personal stories and images to raise funds for important causes, according to a Csnaps press release. Celebrities and their reps are encouraged to break news or share info on Csnaps.
“By using Fan Csnaps, you get a picture with your favorite star and money goes to help good causes and those in need,” says Sambora. “It’s a win-win for everybody.”
Charities which benefit from Csnaps include PETA, The ALS Association, Smile Train and The Humane Society.
