Record Store Day 2019: See What The Rolling Stones, Queen, Billy Joel, Pink Floyd and Pearl Jam Have on Tap

It’s time to start the countdown to the most wonderful day of the year: Record Store Day.

Record Store Day 2019 is set for April 13, and all you favorite 1071 The Boss rockers–The Rolling StonesDavid BowieQueenBilly Joel and Pink Floyd — have plenty of goodies ready for you. Also getting in on the action: Eric Clapton, future Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Def LeppardThe Doors, John Lennon, U2, Rush and The Grateful Dead.

Pearl Jam is overseeing the action as Record Store Day Ambassadors, and are joining in on the fun by issuing a limited edition disc of the band’s 2005 performance at Seattle’s Easy Street Records.

The Rolling Stones and Bowie have–count ’em–three Record Store Day releases each on the menu.  The Stones are offering a special single featuring a performance of “She’s a Rainbow” from an October 2017 concert in Paris; a reissue of the U.K. version of the band’s 1966 compilation Big Hits (High Tide and Green Grass), pressed on–you guessed it– green vinyl; and a 50th anniversary edition of the U.K. version of the group’s Through the Past Darkly hits LP.

Bowie also has three releases feature a cool picture-disc of the 1973 covers album, Pin Ups (with his version of  The Who’s  “I Can’t Explain,” among others” among others) : a single featuring “The Revolutionary Song,” which he recorded for his 1978 film Just a Gigolo, plus a reissue of the 1970 compilation The World of David Bowie.

Twin piano Gods Elton John and Joel have dueling releases as well: John will release Live From Moscow, while Joel will offer 1977’s Live From Carnegie Hall.

Queen –still celebrating its four Oscar wins at the 91st Annual Academy Awards–will release a picture disc of the movie soundtrack, while guitarist Brian May is issuing a 12-inch disc featuring two versions of his recent solo tune, “New Horizons.”

Pink Floyd continues to celebrate the 50th anniversary of A Saucerful of Secrets with a mono version of the album.
