Queen + Adam Lambert Will Rock The Oscars on Sunday

Queen will rock the Academy Awards ceremony this Sunday, the Motion Picture Academy announced today.

The performance—with Adam Lambert on vocals for the late Freddie Mercury–will frame an evening where the biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, is up for several awards, including best actor for Rami Malek, who portrayed Mercury in the movie.

The song, “Bohemian Rhapsody,” was revealed to be the most streamed song of the 20th Century in November.

Queen guitarist Dr. Brian May teased the performance on Instagram, writing “Time to Rock the Oscars” blasting “We Will Rock You” against an image on Lambert on stage.

Queen + Adam Lambert will open the show, which airs 8 p.m. EST.
