Poison Reissues Classic Album on Vinyl
Record Store Day may be over, but Poison is still celebrating the magic of vinyl by celebrating the 30th anniversary of the release of their album, Open Up and Say…Ahh!.
The band has re-released the album–originally released on May 3, 1988–on 180-gram red and green vinyl.
The reissue also features the album’s then-controversial cover, showing a female model made up to look like a tiger, with glowing green eyes, big ’80s hair, black claws, and an extended tongue that looks to be about a foot long, all tinted blood red.
The album includes its only US #1 hit– the power ballad “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.” The album–which also includes the anthem, “Nothin’ But a Good Time”–has since gone five-times platinum in the U.S.
If you want the red vinyl version, you can only get it at Amazon for $14.29. The green vinyl pressing is a little tougher Only 1,000 copies are available for $24.98 a pop, and only from TheSoundofVinyl.
