Paul Simon to Appear on Saturday Night Live

On October 13,  Paul Simon will celebrate his 77th birthday Oct. 13  as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live.

Simon–who just wrapped his Homeward Bound farewell tour– has appeared on the show 14 times before.  One of his most memorable appearances on SNL is from 1976, performing “Homeward Bound” with the late Beatle, George Harrison.

He is currently promoting his new album, In the Blue Light. Seth Meyers will host SNL that night.

Paul Simon Announces New Album

Simon is a member of the SNL Five-Timers Club, though technically, he’s only hosted the show four times — he was granted membership because of his numerous musical appearances and cameos.

Simon’s a good friend of SNL producer Lorne Michaels, and is also friendly with former cast member Chevy Chase, who appeared in his video for “You Can Call Me Al.” Another SNL Five-Timer, Steve Martin, appeared in Simon’s video for “Proof.”
