Paul McCartney Returns to The Cavern Club for Surprise Gig

Any Beatles fan worth their salt knows this line: “Remember all you cave-dwellers, the Cavern is the best of cellars.”

The Cavern Club in Liverpool is legendary in Beatles lore. It’s where the band played long before going to the top of the pops. On Thursday afternoon (July 26), Paul McCartney returned to perform a secret show for 250 lucky fans. The icon previewed four songs from his forthcoming record, Egypt Station, in a lively 28-song set that included Beatles and Wings gems.
