Paul McCartney Announces Album Details

It’s official! Paul McCartney has announced that his forthcoming album–Egypt Station–will arrive September 7.

The record will be available in multiple formats, including CD, vinyl LP, digital and as a Super Deluxe Limited Edition box set featuring bonus tracks. The record features 14 tracks, including opening and closing instrumental tracks.

Today (June 20), McCartney released two tracks as a double A-side: a ballad titled “I Don’t Know” and the footstomper, “Come On to Me.” Both tracks are available digitally now, though if you pre-order Egypt Station you’ll immediately receive free downloads of the songs.

McCartney, 76,  posted a video on YouTube discussing the record and giving some insight into the title.

“I liked the words ‘Egypt Station.’ It reminded me of the ‘album’ albums we used to make,” he said. “Egypt Station starts off at the station on the first song and then each song is like a different station. So it gave us some idea to base all the songs around that. I think of it as a dream location that the music emanates from.”
