What do members of the legendary E Street Band do while Bruce Springsteen is on hiatus? If you’re drummer Max Weinberg, you grab your sticks, gather some friends and PLAY!
Weinberg launched his latest project, “Max Weinberg’s Jukebox,” Sunday night at City Winery in New York. He was joined by three members of The Weeklings–bassist and vocalist Glen Burtnik and guitarists Bob Burger and John Merjave–for a show that included covers of AC/DC, The Beatles, Cream, Cheap Trick, The Monkees, The Rolling Stones, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and (of course), Springsteen.
The idea of the show is simple–a list of songs are provided by the side of the stage, and the audience calls out which songs they want the band to play.
If you missed the show, fret not. The Jukebox goes live at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park on Aug. 30.
