Man Breaks Into John Mellencamp’s Indiana Home

It’s a good thing John Mellencamp has a good alarm system at his little pink house in Indiana.

According to multiple reports, a man drove to Mellencamp’s home, crashed through his security gate and kicked in the door 6 a.m Thursday (Feb. 7). The Monroe Sherrif’s police department responded immediately after alerted by the alarm.

The man, Robert Gordon, told police he was there to ““arrest Mellencamp for supporting a government he doesn’t support.”

John Mellencamp Awarded Woody Guthrie Prize

Gordon was arrested earlier this week on a separate charge of carrying a handgun without a license. He now faces charges of burglary, residential entry and criminal trespass in the Mellencamp case.

Mellencamp is on tour, with a show in Wisconsin this evening. He is scheduled to perform at the State Theater in New Brunswick on Feb. 23.
