Listen to Unreleased Tom Petty Track from Forthcoming Compilation (Audio)

The long-delayed Tom Petty compilation, The Best of Everything, will now arrive on March 1, and fans are getting an early taste with the premiere of an unreleased song, previewed on Petty’s YouTube channel.

The song–“For Real”–speaks of Petty’s love for music, and is available on digital and streaming platforms.

“I did it for real, would’ve done it for free,” the Rock and Roll Hall of famer sings. “I did it for me, ’cause it was all that rang true…and I did it for you.”

The 38-track record features the late singer’s work with The HeartbreakersMudcrutch and as a solo artist with two unreleased songs, including the title track.
