Smithereens front man Pat DiNizio will be honored in song with a tribute concert, “Time and Time Again: A Celebration of the Life of Pat DiNizio” Saturday night (Jan. 13) at the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, and some special guests are on the bill.
Hosted by E Street Band and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame icon Steve Van Zandt, founding members of the Smithereens–Jim Babjak, Dennis Diken, and Mike Mesaros, along with Severo Jornacion–will be joined by Patty Smyth of Scandal, Marshall Crenshaw, Robin Wilson of the Gin Blossoms, Freedy Johnston, Richard Barone of The Bongos, Peter Zaremba of The Fleshtones, Keith Streng of The Fleshtones, Bebe Buell, The Grip Weeds, Kenny Margolis, Soraia, Ted Leo, Graham Maby of the Joe Jackson Band, Andy Burton, Smithereens producer Ed Stasium and Kenny Howes.
The event–which will be presented in an open floor configuration–is sold out, but there are plans to live stream the show.
