Led Zeppelin Announces ‘The Song Remains the Same’ Reissues

Led Zeppelin is wrapping up their reissue campaign with the announcement the group will release a new edition of The Song Remains the Same concert soundtrack.

The set features newly remastered audio, and will be available as a Super Deluxe Box, CD, vinyl, digital, and Hi-Res 5.1 on Sept. 7. If you are wondering why that date was selected, it’s a special date in Led Zep history–the 5oth anniversary of the group’s first live performance together.

Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page produced and supervised the remastering of The Song Remains the Same reissue, which  documents the band’s July 27-29, 1973 engagement at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

The performances took place during Led Zeppelin’s tour in support of their Houses of the Holy album, and included performances of such classic tunes as “Rock and Roll,” “Black Dog,” “Dazed and Confused,” “Stairway to Heaven” and “Whole Lotta Love.”
