Jeff Lynne’s ELO Concert Special Set for Showtime Debut
DVR alert: Jeff Lynne’s ELO will be featured in the Showtime debut of the concert film, Wembley or Bust, on July 27.
The film includes interviews with Lynne and the band, as well as a packed setlist that includes: “Evil Woman,” “Livin’ Thing,” “Do Ya,” “Sweet Talkin’ Woman,” “Telephone Line,” “Turn to Stone,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” and “Mr. Blue Sky.” It also included a rendition of the title track to the latest Jeff Lynne’s ELO studio album, 2015’s When I Was a Boy, and the Traveling Wilburys hit “Handle with Care,” which Lynne co-wrote.
In a teaser clip released on YouTube, Lynne says that while he is in charge, he isn’t too difficult to “please.”
“I don’t let anything slide. If there’s something that’s bugging me, I’ll be right there to say, ‘Can you not do that?’,” he said. “But it doesn’t happen very often, because they’re so good, and they’ve got infinite patience.”
The show airs at 9 p.m. on Showtime. Jeff Lynne’s ELO will appear in Philadelphia on Aug. 24.
