David Bowie Rarities Set for Release
Three years ago this Friday (Jan. 10) marks the anniversary of David Bowie’s passing, and his estate is honoring his memory with the release of David Bowie Is It Any Wonder?
The six-song digital EP will be released one track at a time in weekly installments over a period of six weeks. The first track, a previously unreleased 1996 version of “The Man Who Sold the World,” is available now as a streaming-only digital single.
The track is part of a nine-song session recorded in New York City in November, 1996, as part of rehearsals for the late singer’s 50th birthday celebration. Those tracks will be released under the title ChangesNowBowie as a limited-edition CD and vinyl LP on April 18 as part of the 2020 Record Store Day sale.
Locally, a tribute to David Bowie, featuring Ray Andersen, Layonne Holmes, Reagan Richards, Arne Wendt, Tommy Labella, Mike Doktorski, David Anthony and Ralph Notaro, is set for April 11 at Tim Mcloones Supper Club in Asbury Park. To purchase tickets for the show, Bowie & Beyond, click HERE.
