Could Bruce Springsteen Day Become a Reality?
A state assemblywoman is proposing a New Jersey holiday in honor of Bruce Springsteen.
Valerie Vainieri Huttle, D-Bergen has drafted a proposal to make Springsteen’s birthday–Sept. 23–a holiday. In order to become official, it would need to be passed by the state Assembly and Senate, and then signed by Gov. Phil Murphy.
Huttle –who was inspired to write the draft after seeing ‘Springsteen on Broadway”–said the bill would be an “easy lift” for legislators because Springsteen is regarded as “nothing short of a New Jersey icon,” a “talented musician” and “a hero of the working class.”
“This Jersey girl could not think of an artist who better exemplifies the beauty of our state, its people and the beauty of humanity than the Boss!” she said.
Here is a question–will we all get a day off in Bruce’s honor if that happens? Hey, we had to ask!
