Bruce Springsteen’s Son, Sam, Officially Sworn in as Jersey City Fireman
Congratulations to Bruce Springsteen and Patti Scialfa, who are celebrating the success of their son, Sam, who was one of 15 new Jersey City firefighters sworn in this morning (Jan. 14) at City Hall.
“It was a long road, and he was very dedicated,” Bruce Springsteen said to reporters at the Court House. ” … We’re just excited for him today.”
Jersey City’s Class of 2020 went through five months of training at an academy in Morristown. There are now a total of 666 firefighters in the city.
Sam, 25, is the youngest son of Springsteen and Scialfa’s three children. He graduated from the Monmouth County Fire Academy in 2014 and served as a volunteer in the Colts Neck Fire Department.
“It wasn’t easy,” Sam Springsteen said of his training.
The new firefighters include Springsteen, Francesca Zappella, Thomas McFarlane, John Bramley Jr., Conor Keim, Shane Richeal, Jason Garrison, Omar Soto, Sean Brady, Connor Wujciak, Angel Ortez, Francis Degnan, Richard Ferment, Andrew Crilly and Luke Gibbons.
