Bruce Springsteen Returns to The Stone Pony Summer Stage with Southside Johnny, Garry Tallent
Bruce Springsteen returned to The Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park Saturday night (July 6) as a two-time special guest, first with E Street Band bassist Garry Tallent and then again for a seven-song stretch with Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes.
Springsteen–donning a Yankees cap and checking out the show casually from the side of the stage–first joined Tallent and The Delevantes to add guitars and harmonies to a new song, “Dirty Rotten Shame.”
Southside Johnny Lyon–who rocked with a set that included “Love on the Wrong Side of Town”–then summoned Springsteen back with a simple request: “Come out here, Boss Man!”
He then strapped on his famed guitar for seven full songs–including “Sherry Darling,” “The Fever,” “Talk to Me,” “Kitty’s Back,” “I Don’t Want to Go Home,” “Mona/Not Fade Away,” and wrapped with “Havin’ A Party.”
Thanks to everyone that came out to our Boss Summer Party! It was a magical night in Asbury Park (and congratulations to all our ticket winners that got to witness a fantastic event–it was Springsteen’s first appearance at the Pony since 2011!)
