Billy Joel is just full of surprises, and fans that were lucky enough to be in the audience at Madison Square Garden got a real treat as The Piano Man welcomed Jukebox Heroes Foreigner on stage Thursday night (Jan. 11).
Joel began by teasing the audience with a story about how Foreigner’s Mick Jones served as producer of his 1989 album, “Storm Front.” He then invited Jones and Foreigner front man Lou Gramm–who have been separately–to perform “Cold as Ice” and “Urgent.”
Joel has a history with Foreigner–he inducted Jones and Gramm both into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2013.
This summer, Mick Jones and Foreigner will appear with Whitesnake June 30 at the PNC Bank Arts Center.
