Aerosmith made a triumphant return to the stage Friday night (Feb. 1) as part of pre-Super Bowl festivities at the inaugural Bud Light Super Bowl Music Festival.
The show kicked off the band’s 50th Anniversary celebration on a high note with guitarist Joe Perry taking the stage in his first appearance since his Nov. 10 hospitalization following a guest turn at Madison Square Garden with Billy Joel.
Aerosmiths’s 17-song set –which included the hits ” Janie’s Got a Gun,” “Cryin'” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”–was attended by two very excited special guests–Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins. Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler spotted Grohl side stage, strolled his way, then got him on mic to sing a bit of “Livin’ on The Edge.”
And in case you are wondering who tihe band is rooting for in the Big Game, it should come as no surprise. Bassist Tom Hamilton donned on a Rob Gronkowski jersey and Tyler sporting an AFC Champions hat during “Dream On” to show The New England Patriots hometown support.
As previously reported Aerosmith will kick of their Las Vegas residency at The Park Theater–Deuces Are Wild– in April.
